The Faculty’s commitment to the next generation of scientists

Since the fall of 2025, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Université Laval has guaranteed every master’s and doctoral student in pharmaceutical sciences or pharmacoepidemiology at least $22,000 in funding per year.

This measure aims to:

  • Give students viable access to a challenging and rewarding learning environment
  • Support academic and scientific success
  • Provide personalized support throughout each student’s studies

How the measure came about

This initiative arose from a survey conducted at Université Laval by the Faculty of Pharmacy’s Association of Pharmacy Student Researchers (ACCEP), which revealed significant financial challenges for some students and the need for structured and predictable support.

In response, the faculty assembly adopted this measure by a majority vote, speaking to the faculty’s and administration’s commitment to the next generation of scientists.
